To stimulate The Law of Attraction I have written a new About Me page. You should try it yourself. Write exactly what you want to be writing on your About Me page in your own blog in the future. For me to complete my Diploma in Nutritional Sciences and Diploma in Naturopathic Study while working full time will take 6 years. So I will be ecstatic when I can cut and paste this onto my About page in December 2015.

ABOUT ME

I am is a Physical Trainer by trade, an Occupational Therapist, a Naturopath, a Nutritionist and a Chek qualified Holistic Lifestyle Coach by qualification. But the role that I take the most pride fulfilling well is that of a Mother. I balance working with the constant endeavour to be a superb trainer with my highest priority of raising my daughter giving her all the time she needs to grow up a confident and balanced soul.

The prinicples I try to role model every day are:

Emersion: Children learn concepts of health first hand through being emersed in a balanced healthy life of their parents.

Holism: Preventative Medicine and Longevity requires a holistic approach, all aspects of the person must be balanced to remain disease free.

Generosity: Happiness stems from loving relationships and a meaningful existence. Only when one adds great value to the lives of others will one be truly happy.

Relationships: The people whom we chose to spend time with influence us. May we choose our friends and associates wisely.

Patience: Be easy on oneself. Excellence is a journey.

Time: The most precious gift a person can give to another is time.

I continue to be mesmerised that the real issues don’t make it to the 6 O’clock news, and instead are relegated to the bullet points tacked onto the end of the programme as an afterthought or a “oh by the way”. While the Tsunami killed 82 people, how many people will recklessly substantiated vaccination programmes sicken or take the lives of?

Yesterday a 14 year old girl, otherwise swimmingly well, in the UK died hours after receiving a single dose of the Cervarix vaccine. Typically, authorities are trying to minimise collateral damage by stating that “There are no indications of any link between Morton’s death and the vaccine” meanwhile stopping the programme for days while “training (staff) in how to answer questions from anyone concerned about its safety”. I’m amused. Two days to answer a simple question about vaccination safety? Surely if the research is sound, the answer to a question regarding a vaccinations safety is simply to distribute the research?

Most parents making the vaccination decision for their child consider it’s a no-brainer… that there is only one wise decision and this perspective is fiercely driven by the Ministry of Health with Pro-vaccination propaganda everywhere a new parent looks. Recently 3 news featured a lengthy pro vaccination piece suggesting parents might be irresponsible or naive should they chose to not vaccinate. The truth is that low immunisation rate may well be a function of educated parents having the tenacity to look at the other side of the coin, weigh up the risks for their own child and make a decision based on calculated risk. Let’s face it, measles is a self limiting disease and generally only the immunocompromised are fatally affected.

So back to vaccination against HPV. HPV can cause cancer so surely if a parent chooses to decline this vaccination for their child they are being irresponsible?

Not so fast. Gardasil is “God’s Gift to Women” according the vaccine developer, and is NZ’s equivalent of the Cervarix vaccine. What concerns me the most are the unknowns the Ministry of Health has decided to overlook before making decisions whether to pump the product into our unsuspecting teens. Hilary Butler in her book From one Prick to Another comments on an article released by the developer about Gardisil, that is riddled with comments such as,

…about infections that go away “the mechanism of regression remains uncertain” and…

…antibody is “likely” to be the mode of protection against infection induced by the vaccination, although “this has yet to be formally established”.

Does anybody else notice the obvious abyss in our knowledge about this virus and the vaccine?

And take a look at this article… Gardasil What TV One News did not tell you.

Butler quotes an interesting statement made in an USA Food and Drug Administration workshop transcript, “We (also) know that in the developed world, herpes viruses which cause clinical problems are mainly a problem for people whose immune systems are suppressed somehow”. Even Gardasils developer admits “(the HPV virus) persists more frequently in the immunosuppressed patient”. Add this knowledge to the twenty year collection of medical articles that have established strong links between lifestyle factors and the development of the HPV into cervical cancer and we have a better understanding that the decision to immunise should go hand in hand with contemplation of lifestyle factors.

Our nanny state has a responsibility to protect the weak and the stupid. Many many children are bottle-fed (not breast), not provided with adequate nutrition, living standards, emotional stability, and have their natural immune system bombarded with chemical toxins from before they make it out of the womb. Our National Immunisation Schedule is designed to prop up the immunity of the lowest common denominator.

What is troubling is the forever widening of the schedule, with five new injections introduced since June 2008. Is this our answer to health, wellbeing and longevity, the introduction of more and more manufactured compounds into our gene pool? Fortunately it doesn’t have to be your answer. We live in a country that, while discouraged by the government, the decision to vaccinate is still a decision rather than a no-brainer.

For more information go to the immunisation awareness society of NZ.
